In need of some good ole fashioned vitamin D

The past three days or so it has been raining. The creeks and rivers are swelled and some were out of their banks. I am sure we have had about 4 inches or more! I am thankful for the rain which we really did need. Everything is definitely green outside. The flower beds have burst out with leaves, tulips blooming, daffodils and hyacinths. Last years herbs are popping out of the soil, lemon balm and chives. I am craving getting out and planting my new herbs and working the garden up but first we need some vitamin D. Good ole sunshine! It feels dreary, makes a body drag when it's gloomy outside. I am thankful that God has given us his promises and can make a heart that is gloomy full of sunshine and joy. I have had to dry my laundry in the dryer because we needed clean clothes and hanging it on the dryer rack took two days to get it dry. It smelled funny by then too. I dislike using my dryer because of the high energy it uses. My wash day was Monday and my loads had piled up. Muddy jeans and shirts from the kids and hubby. Towels and socks. I think about the pioneers. When it rained they didn't have the excuse to use a dryer. They simply didn't have one. Hang out clothes to dry year round. Their lives went on despite of a gloomy day. I need to be more grateful and thankful. I have a roof over my head, clothes, food and an abundance of love from my family. What more could a girl want? So as I reflect on the day ahead I am praying for sunshine. I am praying to accomplish many things and thanking God for his tender mercy and care. How about you?
